*Al-Anon is not currently meeting but plans to resume as soon as possible*
When and Where: Monday evenings at 7:00 pm in the Library.
Brief Description: Al-Anon helps families and friends of alcoholics recover from the effects of living with the problem drinking of a loved one. We do this by practicing the Twelve Steps, by welcoming and giving comfort to families of alcoholics, and by offering understanding and encouragement to the alcoholic. This fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics shares their experience, strength, and hope in order to solve their common problems. We believe that alcoholism is a family illness, and that changed attitudes can aid recovery. Newcomers are welcome to join Al-Anon at any time; with the understanding confidentiality will be observed.
When and Where: Tuesday evenings at 6:30 PM in Room 110.
Brief Description: DivorceCare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. Don’t go through separation or divorce alone. This 12-week study, features “stand alone” sessions, and the study is repeated so you are able to pick up missed lessons.
When and Where: Tuesday evenings at 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM in Room 102.
Brief Description: GriefShare is a special class and support group for those grieving the loss of someone close. The group offers comfort and encouragement during this difficult time and is led by others who understand the many emotions you are experiencing. Each session includes a video seminar and group discussion. A workbook is also provided to assist with note taking, journaling, and grief study. Though it is a 13-week program, each session is “self-contained,” so you do not have to attend in sequence. No matter when you begin, you will find the encouragement and help you need.
Pastoral care is provided by the Pastoral Care Minister, Susanne Wampler, with the assistance of relevant LakeRidge UMC ministry volunteers who offer spiritual support and encouragement. Care is provided for a number of situations. Continual Pastoral Care ministries include:
- Friends Ministry: Contacting those who have lost a loved one
- Hospital Visitation: Time with those in the hospital to offer encouragement and prayer
- Shut-in Ministry: Visit church members and provide recordings of sermons to those who are unable to attend church services.
If you or someone you know needs care, contact Susanne Wampler at (806) 773-4430

This room is for anyone seeking to connect with God for physical, emotional, or spiritual healing. Jesus came to restore wholeness to every area of our lives. His touch through the prayers of others is powerful: bringing comfort, hope, and renewed life. During this time, someone will silently pray over you as you soak in the atmosphere of worship in the Wesley Chapel before joining a healing minister in the healing prayer room for Communion, anointing with oil, and prayer. No pre-registration is required. Open Thursdays (except holidays), come and go from 7:00-8:00 PM in the Wesley Chapel.
