Perhaps you have heard, LakeRidge is constructing a columbarium. A columbarium provides a place – called a niche- for the remains to be placed of those who elect cremation.
The new structure will be in the existing prayer garden and will provide a consecrated space for family members and friends to meet in remembrance of their loved one. This new addition is meant to provide peace, comfort and spiritual well-being to our members during times of death and bereavement. For more information or to purchase a niche, visit any one of our three welcome desks on a Sunday morning or call the church office.
Members of LakeRidge UMC or their immediate family members including spouses, parents, step-parents, grandparents, step-grandparents, children, step-children, grandchildren and step-grandchildren are all eligible for inurnment in the LRUMC Columbarium.
Each niche will accommodate two 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 x 7” urns. The cost is still the same per inurnment even when one niche is shared.
Uniformity of inscription is required in terms of size and style. The maximum inscription includes the name of the deceased, birth and death dates.
How to Purchase a Niche
Applications for a certificate of right of inurnment are available from the church office. Once an application has been approved, the certificate holder will have the right to select from the niches available at that time.
Cost An initial introductory offer of $1500 per person is in effect from July 1 through September 30, 2018. The introductory rate is being offered as an incentive for people to purchase niches and provide the initial funding for construction. After October 1, 2018, niches will be offered at a rate of $2500 each.
Payments can be made all at one time or in three equal installments over a three-month period. Once funds are paid, no refunds are available.
